ESTHER CHOI

ESTHER CHOI

To celebrate Women's History Month, we're sitting down with some of our favorite female creatives, businesswomen, etc. to share their stories, likes, life tips, and more.

Esther is our Creative Director living in Seattle, originally from Los Angeles. She is a visual storyteller and is often captivated by the visual elements of the landscape, history, and people whom she’s encountered. She finds that she sees and understands herself a little more with each encounter, sometimes even evolving with it. She loves capturing the beauty in people’s stories through her work.

Why are shoes important to you?

Shoes play an important role in my daily life and can impact my comfort, health, and style! Shoes provide protection for my feet from various hazards such as sharp objects, hot surfaces, and certain weather conditions. I’ve always loved a good pair of shoes and I love that I can express my personal style. The right shoes can enhance my overall look and boost my confidence!

How has your perception of beauty evolved over the years?

I used to have certain standards of beauty growing up. Korean beauty standards are pretty high and I thought having a proportional look was everything. Now that I’m older, I think confidence is key and I think being able to own my character and body is beautiful. I also think less is more and balance plays a huge role in beauty.

Which J. Adams shoes do you like and why?

My favorites are the Stormis in white and nude. They are super comfortable, look classy, and can literally match anything. I would wear it with a pair of denim, slacks, a wedding dress, you name it all!

      Shop the Stormi shoe!

What are some tips on maintaining balance and taking care of your well-being?

Living in Washington has been helping me to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Taking time off of social media has also been giving me peace and rest. Just resting my mind and soul is important because it helps me to bounce back and feel rejuvenated and energized. I also love my sleep!

What is your personal or professional mission?

To live an honest life and be okay with uncomfortable feelings. I want to be patient with myself through the different changes I may experience in the future.

What are you reading or listening to that has made a lasting impression?

I am currently going through All That Is Made (A guide to faith and creative life) by Alabaster Co. I want to be able to create with a purpose in everything that I do.

Make a wish for your future self:

To have kids and continue to be healthy. Be patient and stay thankful.
